TIGERS
Tigers is the Scouting program for first grade boys (age 6 years old). Tigers do stuff--lots of stuff! This program is intended to open up the world to their inquisitive minds along with the caring guidance of adults. The first steps along the Boy Scout Trail are laid here and every rank advancement through the Scouting program builds on the basic categories of activity done as Tigers.
Tigers Handbook
This book is for Tigers and their parents or guardians. It tells about the Tiger program; gives information about dens, leaders, uniforms, and advancement; and includes ideas for planning a den program. Den leaders, as well as a parent or guardian, approve each achievement by signing his book.
Tiger Uniform
The uniform is an important part of the Scouting program, especially for the youngest boys just starting their boy scout trail. It identifies the boys and adults with Tigers and gives them a sense of belonging to the Den, the Pack, and the Boy Scouts of America.
Scouts enjoy wearing their Tiger uniform. They should wear it to all den meetings, pack meetings, and special pack activities.
The current Tiger uniform is the official blue Cub Scout shirt with blue/orange neckerchief and neckerchief slide. There is also an official Tiger cap and blue web belt with a Tiger buckle. There are also blue socks with orange band to complete the uniform. Each scout also receives a T-shirt which is only to be worn for hikes, beach clean-ups and camping.

A Little Tiger Trivia
- In 2006, the Bobcat rank became the first rank earned by Cub Scouts, starting with Tigers. The Tigers had their own motto: Search, Discover, Share. Today, Tigers use the Cub Scout motto: Do Your Best.
- For a few years, up until 2001, the Tigers had their own promise to memorize. Former Tiger Cub Promise: I promise to love God, my family and my country, and to learn about the world. That has been discontinued and they now use the Cub Scout promise: I, (say your name), promise to DO MY BEST, To do my DUTY to GOD, And my Country, To HELP other people, and To OBEY the LAW of the Pack
