LIONS
Introducing Kindergarten-Aged Youth to Scouting with Lion Cub Scouts. The BSA established the Lion Cub Scout program to introduce kindergarten-age youth and parents to all the fun in Scouting. The program's goal is to help young children develop communication skills, and problem-solving abilities and sow the seeds of leadership. Lions work together through fun, hands-on activities the whole family will enjoy! And they'll never leave the supervision of a Lion Guide. Over a single school year, boys and girls will get the opportunity to prepare for their Scouting journey.
Lions Cub Handbook
This book is for Lions and their parents or guardians. It tells about the Lion program; gives information about dens, leaders, uniforms, and advancement; and includes ideas for planning a den program. Den leaders, as well as a parent or guardian, approve each achievement by signing his book.
Lions Cub Uniform
The uniform is an important part of the Scouting program, especially for the youngest boys just starting their boy scout trail. It identifies the boys and adults with Lions and gives them a sense of belonging to the Den, the Pack, and the Boy Scouts of America.
Scouts enjoy wearing their Lion uniform. They should wear it to all den meetings, pack meetings, and special pack activities.
The current Lion uniform is the official blue Cub Scout shirt with yellow neckerchief and neckerchief slide. There is also an official Lion cap. Each scout also receives a T-shirt which is only to be worn for hikes, beach clean-ups and camping.
