ABOUT CUB SCOUTING
WHAT IS CUB SCOUTING?
Cub Scouting is a neighborhood centered program for boys in grades one through five. Cub Scouting was first organized in 1930, when the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) realized that younger brothers, neighbors, and friends had been tagging along on Boy Scout camp outs, service projects, and other activities but not reaping the full benefits of being a Boy Scout. To accommodate this younger generation of motivated boys, the BSA created Cub Scouting.
This exciting and adventurous program became an instant hit. Today, Cub Scouting provides more than two million boys from all backgrounds with healthy doses of constructive fun and an underlying emphasis on traditional values and service.
Scout Oath
On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.
Scout Law
A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent.
Scout Mission
The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

ABOUT PACK 1 HONG KONG
WHAT IS PACK 1 HONG KONG?
Cub Scout Pack 1 Hong Kong is an official member of the Boy Scouts of America Far East Council, chartered through Hong Kong International School (HKIS). Advancement and awards earned through our Pack are officially recognized in the United States and vice versa. We are currently the only BSA Pack in Hong Kong. Our Pack welcomes students from all schools, not only students of HKIS.
Our Cub Scout Pack is made up of Dens: Each Den is made up of 6 to 8 scouts and led by a Den Leader who is a parent volunteer.
WHEN AND WHERE DO WE MEET?
Pack meetings include all Dens and are held monthly during early evening usually 5:00-7:15PM at Hong Kong International School. Dens typically meet twice monthly after school and/or on the weekend. Special Annual Pack events include Pinewood Derby, Raingutter Regatta, and Blue & Gold Banquet.
Cub Scouting takes place across our community.
WHO RUNS IT?
Hong Kong International School is our charter sponsor, and our Pack is led by a dedicated Pack Commitee and Den Leaders across various ranks. Most importantly, our Pack, Dens and Activities run on VOLUNTEER power, registration fees, and our own fundraising! Therefore, parents (both moms and dads) interested in having their sons participate must be ready to volunteer and take on their share of responsibilities to ensure we offer a great experience for our boys.
If you have prior scouting experience, that's terrific! But, no prior scouting experience is necessary. We have an extensive How-To library in development and we often Google best practices from other Packs.
We follow the Cub Scout Motto: Do Your Best!

- Scouting activities may start in your own home as you and your son fulfill the various requirements for badges listed in each Scout Handbook.
- Den Meetings (usually at Hong Kong's Scouts Center in Tai Tam or at the home of a Den Leader) and Den Activities (field trips and Go See activities in the community) take place once a month each.
- On a monthly basis, we hold Pack Meetings at the HKIS Upper Primary School, Church of All Nations in Repulse Bay.
