Webmaster Job Description

  • Manage and maintain www.bsapack1hk.org, the Cub Scout website for BSA Pack 1 Hong Kong, which provides information for pack members, leaders, parents, potential scouts and community members
  • Write, edit, design and publish updated content on a timely basis
  • Learn and follow Boy Scout guidelines for website operations, including privacy protection
  • Manage the pack email box, check emails and respond or forward to appropriate contacts accordingly in a timely manner
  • Manage accounts and subscriptions to site host, email boxes, graphics, document storage and other online tool providers
  • Provide input to Treasurer regarding web needs for annual pack budget
  • Work closely with Pack Committee and Den Leaders to obtain updated content, and build library of How To and Lessons Learned information 
  • Provide assistance and training to leaders to be able to update den specific information
  • Attend monthly meetings, obtain input and report on updates
  • Review site analytics or conduct surveys with key stakeholders to understand use of site and how to improve 
  • Research BSA content, other online resources, and coordinate with HKIS, Boy Scouts and Girl Scout web contacts as needed
  • Must have a computer with email and internet access
  • Experience with websites and website maintenance, is a plus
  • Average of 1-3 hours per week, but may vary depending on desired level of involvement
