Beach Cleanup 2019:  Big Wave Bay "Secret Beach" / Trail begins at BWB parking lot

The bus will drop us off at the BWB parking lot ~3pm on Sunday Oct 20.  We will do a planning briefing at the trailhead then make our way to the secret beach for the cleanup adventure.  Scouts should use the restroom before they load the bus.  There are also restroom facilities and food & drink stands near BWB beach.  We depart ~5pm to HKIS for 5:30pm arrival.

Trail entrance is the opposite side of the Big Wave Bay parking lot from the bus stops and road to BWB beach.  It's quite hidden!

The trail to the Secret Beach is quite short (< 100 meters).  A rope at the end of the trail leads down to the beach.

A fun challenge to navigate the narrow trail from the entrance to the cleanup area, which skirts a swimming hole.

We will take turns swimming by rank.

So much trash to be removed!  Adults will form a gauntlet to move the trash bags from the beach to the trail head.  Adults and scouts who are able will then take the trash bags back to the parking lot where there are rubbish bins.
